Pakistan'in baskenti Islamabad'da bulunuyor. Yapimi 1976 yilinda baslayip
, 1986 yilinda sona erdi.
Caminin alani 5000 metrekare, 700000 kisinin ibadet edebilecegi alan var.
Cami bir Türk mimari olan Vedat Dalokay tarafından dizayn edildi.
Geleneksel camilerin aksine görünümü cok farkli. Arap cadirlari seklinde,
cok genis ibadet yeri var ve 4 minareye sahip.
Caminin ic bölgesindeki duvarlarda Pakistan'ın ünlü sanatcisi Gul Jee'ye
ait mozaikler ve kalografiler bulunmakta...

Bu cami ünlü mimarimiz ve eski Ankara Büyükşehir Belediye başakanı olan Vedat DALOKAY tarafindan çizilmiştir.
The mosque is situated at the end of Shaharah-e-Islamabad, against the backdrop of the picturesque Margalla Hills. This placement defines its importance, positioning it on elevated terraced land ensures its visibility during day and night for miles around. The mosque is dedicated to the memory of the late King Faisal of Saudi Arabia who graciously defrayed the cost of the project as a gift to the people of Pakistan.
The mosque at its inception was conceptualized as the national mosque of the newly formed Islamic nation and was intended to symbolize the hopes and aspiration of Pakistan. The Turkish architect, Vedat Dalokay's design was selected through an international competition. It has sloping roofs, an opulent marble face and four towering minarets. The complex also houses the Islamic Research Center, library, museum, lecture hall, cafeteria and the offices of the faculty of the Islamic University.
Dalokay looked to modern as well as medieval Islamic design principals to arrive at a concept that best reflected the people's aspirations. During the construction of the project, Dalokay offered an explanation for his design to school students on a study tour; I tried to capture the spirit, proportion and geometry of Kaaba in a purely abstract manner. Imagine the apex of each of the four minaret as a scaled explosion of four highest corners of Kaaba Ð thus an unseen Kaaba form is bounded by the minarets at the four corners in a proportion of height to base akin to Kaaba. Now, if you join the apex of each minaret to the base of the minaret diagonally opposite to it correspondingly, a four-sided pyramid shall be bound by these lines at the base side within that invisible cube. That lower level pyramid is treated as a solid body while four minarets with their apex complete the imaginary cube of Kaaba.
The Mosque is like a small Village, housing its own library, museum, lecture hall, café, and University of 700 students. However, it is not only the impressive size and exterior for which the mosque is famed - it also supports as an equally elegantly designed interior. The Kiblah Wall inside the Main Prayer Hall has many decorated glazed tiles from Turkey and a giant golden crescent in the roof. Underneath the wall are reflection pools which allows for air conditioning by adjusting the water level of the pool. There is a giant chandelier in the main prayer hall which weighs some 7.5 tons and uses 1000 electric bulbs.
Instead of traditional domes usually associated with mosques, the main prayer hall is an eight faceted concrete shell representative of a desert tent. An impressive engineering feat, the shell reaches a height of 131'- 3" (40m) and is supported on four giant concrete girders. The surface is faced in white marble and decorated inside with mosaics and a spectacular Turkish style chandelier. The hall can accommodate 10,000 worshippers. The mosque is flanked by four tall minarets measuring 300' - 0" (90m). Influenced by Turkish architecture, the minarets are slender and pointed, the form an abstraction derived from a square base formed by the intersection of two planes.
The entrance is from the east and is preceded by a main courtyard with porticoes. The porticoes can accommodate 24,000 worshippers while the courtyard can provide additional space for 40,000 people. The International Islamic University was housed under the main courtyard. The University is currently in the process of relocating to a new campus that was inaugurated in 2000. A later addition to the grounds of the Faisal Mosque is the mausoleum of General Zia-ul-Haq, (President of Pakistan, 1978 to 198
, which receives people who stop to offer fateha (prayer for the deceased).

Cami dedigim gibi müthis. Ben sadece sinir oldugum nokta. Bu caminin ünvanin dünyaya fazla yayilmamasi. Hiristiyanlarin bir yapiti olsaydi, dünyada duyulurdu ünvani.

mescidi saadet ve mescidi haramdan daha büyük olduğunu zannetmiyorum o camii nin ... ama yapı olarak gerçekten çok güzel...
Arastirmalara bakarsan en büyükl bu cami olarak gösteriliyor. Aksini idaa ediyorsan kanitla o zaman büyük olduklarini arkdasim. Böylece bizde birsey daha ögrenmis oluruz. .
